Former Cincinnati Bengals keep signing with or re-upping with the Houston Texans this offseason.

The latest — just before the NFL draft — is tight end Irv Smith Jr., who re-signed with the Texans on a one-year contract this week.

Smith was a brief fan favorite with the Bengals in 2023 as a possible long-term solution at a troubled spot for Joe Burrow’s offense. But the former second-round pick caught just 18 passes with one touchdown for the team before moving on the next offseason.

Smith joins offensive tackle Trent Brown and defensive lineman Sheldon Rankins as two other former Bengals to do deals with the Texans in free agency this offseason.

Of course, as far as former Bengals in Houston go, Joe Mixon remains the headliner.
