US citizen George Glezmann freed by Taliban in deal mediated by Qatar

Taliban authorities on Thursday freed US citizen George Glezmann after he spent more than two years in detention in Afghanistan, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Thursday. Glezmann, 66, was released after weeks of negotiations led by Qatari and US mediators and is on his way back to the United States.
